The Focus Spot is a monthly segment highlighting artist, models, makeup artist and different people that have worked my me from past to present and the spot is just a little thank you for their continued support of MotelewaSmithPhotography. This months Focus is on Brandon (Durt Boi) Townsend. Its only fitting that Durt Boi takes the No.1 spot. Durt Boi although skeptical was the first artist to intrust MSP with the job of taking the stills for his "I'm the man" video shoot a few years ago. This guy has become a brother to me and we continue to produce some great images together. Durt Boi is definitely becoming a rising star on today's hip hop scene with his grimy delivery and catchy hooks! Hailing from the tough streets of the Riverside community in South Memphis. Durt Boi had to overcome many struggles and hardships, such as his father being incarcerated when he was only 9 years old. After suffering from the devastating blow of his father receiving a life sentence. Durt had to adapt to the instability of bouncing from home to home between his mother, grandma, and aunt. Longing for that missing void in his life from the absence of his father. Durt enlisted in the military after graduating high school. Ironically, the military is where he discovered his passion for writing music.
Be on the lookout for Durt Boi's highly anticipated mixtape, "The Flood" featuring some of Mr. S.E.C.'s hits such as the heartfelt ballad, "Why Chase Ya", the swagger out anthem, "I'm Da Man ft Skool Boy" & "Pop Drop & Roll" which will definitely keep the ladies dancing in the clubs!
